Nicotine/Smoking Detection

Nicotine/Cotinine Test
$5.50 Single Test/$24.50 Six Pack
Cotinine is the first-stage metabolite of nicotine, a toxic alkaloid that produces
stimulation of the ganglia and central nervous system in humans. The window of detection for cotinine in urine at a cutoff level of 200mg/ml is expected
to be up to 2-3 days after cotinine use, most frequently found in cigarette smoking. If your kid or teen has been smoking tobacco within the past 2 - 3 days this test will detect it.
Smoking and
drinking alcohol seem to go together in behavior patterns and are often
referred to as “gateway drugs/chemicals”. Add an alcohol test to your order for a more complete
picture of your teen’s behavior.
The test is easy to use and results are easy to read.
- POSITIVE: One red line appears in the Control (C) region. No line appears in the Test (T) region.
- NEGATIVE: Two red lines appear. One red line should be in the Control (C) region & another red or pink line should be in the Test (T) region. The shade of color in the test region (T) may vary, but it should be considered negative even when there is even a faint line.
- INVALID: Control (C) line fails to appear. Insufficient specimen volume or Incorrect procedural techniques are the most likely reasons for the Control line failure.
